LONGVIEW - He didn't play baseball, but his love for the game will live on forever on display. The Gregg County Historical Museum's Baseball showpiece added the "Jack T. Buchanan Collection". Buchanan was a fanatic of the sport, he passed away in 2012, but he left a cache of all the memorabilia he collected to his nephew.
Autographed cards, bats and baseballs are displayed. Some of them are signed by players who are believed to be the greatest to play the game. It was the Chicago Cubs that made him fall in love with the sport. Soon after, a Cubs collection turned into Yankees, Red Sox and more.
Not only Buchanan's passion for baseball will be on display, it'll serve as an environment for kids about it's history and impact. The Field of Dreams exhibit will debut August 5 and it'll last until the 26.
