Subtropical Storm Alberto expected to weaken to a depression

Alberto made landfall Monday afternoon in Laguna Beach, west of Panama City as a tropical storm. It had maximum sustained winds opf 65 MPH and is expected to weaken into the day on Tuesday. The main threat from the storm is heavy rainfall with some places getting up to 10 inches of rain.

TYLER, TEXAS — Alberto made landfall Monday afternoon in Laguna Beach, west of Panama City as a tropical storm. It had maximum sustained winds opf 65 MPH and is expected to weaken into the day on Tuesday. The main threat from the storm is heavy rainfall with some places getting up to 12 inches of rain.

The Forecast:

The storm's center is expected to move over Alabama tonight and Tuesday morning. Then moving over the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday and into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes region on Wednesday and Thursday dumping locally heavy rainfall.

Isolated tornadoes are possible tonight in parts of Georgia and southeastern Alabama.
