TYLER — Administrators from Tyler ISD are investigating after a video surfaced of a John Tyler High School teacher shoving a student in class.
The video was recorded via Snapchat, and is being circulated through Facebook.
Here's the statement from Tyler ISD:
"Tyler ISD takes seriously all inappropriate conduct which threatens the well-being of our students and staff. Our preliminary investigation reveals the teacher was assaulted first, and therefore the surfaced video is not indicative of the entire situation that occurred. District administrators are currently investigating the situation and will take appropriate action."
The district also said that the teacher in the video has been put on administrative leave, and the student involved will be disciplined according to their code of conduct.
