UIL STATE: Argyle defeats Lindale 49-21 in the UIL 4A-Div. I state title game

This is Argyle's second state championship win.

ARLINGTON, Texas — In the final flight of the Eagles, Lindale went up against an undefeated Argyle squad Friday night for the UIL 4A Division I state championship.

Last week Lindale (13-2) defeated Austin LBJ 31-28 to secure their spot in the state title game, while Argyle (15-0) took down Canyon 37-20.

Argyle came away with the win, defeating Lindale 49-21 for Argyle's second state title.

1ST QUARTER

12:00 - Lindale kicks off to Argyle who brings it out to the their own 25-yard line.

9:51 - Argyle's CJ Rogers hands it off to Tito Byce for the 1-yard touchdown. The extra point is good and Argyle leads early 7-0.

9:50 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale who brings it out to their own 40-yard line.

8:30 - Lindale punts it away and pins Argyle on their own 13-yard line.

6:47 - Argyle quarterback CJ Rogers passes to Hayden Stewart who fumbles the ball. Lindale recovers the fumble at the Argyle 49-yard line.

5:50 - Lindale goes three-and-out and punts the ball away to the Argyle 17-yard line.

2:12 - Argyle's CJ Rogers dishes it out to Tito Byce who takes it four yards for his second score of the night. The extra point is good and Argyle leads Lindale 14-0.

2:12 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale's Jaymond Jackson who fumbles it at the Lindale 4-yard line. Argyle jumps on it at the Lindale 2-yard line.

2:09 - Argyle's CJ Rogers hands it off again to his favorite rusher, Tito Byce, who who earns the hat trick with his third touchdown of the game. The point after is good and Argyle extends their lead to 21-0 over Lindale. Byce has racked up 14 carries in the first quarter, alone.

2:03 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale who will field it at their own 40-yard line.

:27 - Lindale punts it away to Argyle. Argyle will start this drive at their own 31-yard line.

END OF 1Q - Argyle leads Lindale 21-0.

2ND QUARTER

11:05 - Lindale holds Argyle who punts it away on fourth down for the first time. Lindale will start the drive at their own 18-yard line.

10:14 - Lindale punts the ball back to Argyle on fourth down. Argyle will start the drive at their own 28-yard line.

9:23 - Lindale stops Argyle on 3rd-and-19 and brings up 4th-and-14 for Argyle. Argyle punts it away 44 yards to Lindale's 32-yard line.

7:45 - Lindale's Jordan Jenkins takes it 41 yards to the Argyle 1-yard line. However, a holding penalty against Lindale negates the play.

6:25 - Lindale goes for it on 4th-and-8 and quarterback Sam Peterson's throw is incomplete. Argyle takes over on their own 31-yard line.

3:17 - Argyle's CJ Rogers with the handoff to Tito Byce for Byce's fourth touchdown of the game on a 2-yard run. The extra point is good and Argyle leads Lindale 28-0.

3:17 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale. Lindale will start this drive at their own 20-yard line.

:16 - On 4th-and-3, Lindale's Sam Peterson throws it to Jacob Seekford who lets the ball slip through his hands in the end zone. Lindale turns it over on downs.

HALFTIME: Argyle leads Lindale 28-0.

3RD QUARTER

12:00 - Argyle kicks off to Gilmer who fields the all around the Lindale 40-yard line.

8:50 - Lindale's Sam Peterson plunges into the end zone from 10 yards out for their first score of the game. Argyle leads Lindale 28-7.

8:40 - Lindale kicks off to Argyle who'll start the drive at their own 35-yard line.

5:36 - Argyle's CJ Rogers hits TCU signee Jasper Lott for the 2-yard touchdown. The extra point is good and Argyle leads Lindale 35-7.

5:35 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale who'll start this drive from their own 35-yard line.

2:47 - Lindale's Sam Peterson airs it out to to Jacob Seekford for the 38-yard touchdown. The extra point is good and Argyle leads 35-14.

2:45 - Lindale kicks it off to Argyle who'll start this drive around their own 20-yard line.

1:30 - Argyle's CJ Rogers airs it out to Ward McCollum for the 43-yard touchdown. The extra point is good and Argyle leads 42-14.

1:24 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale who will start this drive at the 33-yard line.

END OF THE 3Q - Argyle leads Lindale 42-14.

4TH QUARTER

12:00 - Argyle starts the fourth quarter at their own 33-yard line.

9:34: Argyle's CJ Rogers hits Cole Kirkpatrick who fumbles the ball in the end zone and it's recovered by Lindale's Airik Williams for the touchback. Lindale will start this drive on their own 25-yard line.

8:18 - Lindale punts the ball away on a 4th-and-5. Argyle lets it roll out of bounds at their own 27-yard line.

4:55 - Argyle's CJ Rogers off the play action gets it to Jasper Lott for his second touchdown of the night. The extra point is good and Argyle leads 49-14.

4:50 - Argyle kicks off to Lindale who fields the ball at their own 20-yard line.

1:57 - Lindale's Sam Peterson hands the ball off to Baylor-bound Jordan Jenkins who takes it all the way in for his first score of the night. The extra point is good and Argyle leads Lindale 49-21. Jenkins is now at 3,053 rushing yards on the season.

1:56 - Lindale tries the onside kick, but it's recovered by Argyle.

1:40 - Argyle pulls their starters in curtain call fashion.

FINAL: Argyle defeats Lindale 49-21 in the UIL 4A-Division I state championship. This is Argyle's second state title.
