Officers from the Tyler Police Department arrested 49-year-old Longview native, James Oliver, after he allegedly stole over $60,000 worth of jewelry from Zales in Tyler.
After authorities secured a warrant for Oliver's arrest, Longview Police arrested him at a hotel in their area.
According to TPD, Oliver was also wanted for outstanding warrants out of Florida and Gregg County.
He was booked into the Gregg County Jail by LPD officers.
The Tyler Police Department is searching for a suspect who posed as a delivery driver to steal $63,000 worth of jewelry from Zales on Dec. 11, 2017 at 8934 S. Broadway.
Authorities were told that a white male suspect entered the jewelry store wearing attire that looked like a UPS uniform and asked the store's employees if they had any outgoing packages for him to pick-up.
An employee then handed him a pick-up delivery that contained $63,000 worth of jewelry. The suspect then left the store with the store's property.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 40’s to 50’s and a medium build, and authorities believe that he was driving a Silver Hyundai Elentra.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
