TYLER — Today is a special time of remembrance for people of the Jewish faith. They are celebrating Yom Hashoah, a time to honor the victims, survivors and heroes of the Holocaust.
An event was held at a Tyler synagogue where people of all faiths came to learn and remember the past.
"People of all faiths need to unite so terrible events like the holocaust don't happen again," Rabbi Alan Learner says.
The program recognized a group of people who not only endured the holocaust but serve as an inspiration for others.
Tyler City Councilman Bob Westbrook also read a proclamation from the Mayor, saying Sunday April 8th was recognized as the day of remembrance of the victims, survivors and liberators of the Holocaust.
