NACOGDOCHES, Texas — One person was taken to a local hospital following a Wednesday night shooting in Nacogdoches.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, officers were called to 604 Perry Drive, around 6:50 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

When authorities arrived at the house, they found Zackary Wright, 19, of Nacogdoches, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Wright was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital before being transferred to a Tyler medical center.

Police say it appears the shooter fired their weapon multiple times into the residence before striking the victim and running away. Multiple people were seen outside the house moments before the shooting. Officers are seeking to identify those individuals.

While law enforcement was still on scene of the shooting, another area resident said he witnessed multiple men approaching his residence. He told authorities one of the men fired a gun in his direction before leaving the area.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting at this time.
