SMITH COUNTY — Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary is inviting East Texans to come trick or treat with the big cats.

The sanctuary will host its 2nd annual Prowl-o-Ween from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27. The event includes a day full of special guests, kid friendly activities, and trick or treating.

“We want to provide a unique experience for guests of all ages. This event gives visitors the opportunity to admire our big cats while also providing a safe environment for children to trick or treat,” said Melanie Wesson, Guest Services Coordinator.

Activities include face painting, bounce house, snow cones and refreshments. There also will be in-house raffles and enrichment with the cats. Attendees that donate a raw pumpkin will receive half off admission and costumes are encouraged.

The 173-acre sanctuary is home to a 102 animals, including 37 big cats.

Over the summer they introduced Luna, a rare white african lion cub, and Bagheera, a black leopard.
