TYLER TEXAS — The annual Tyler Rose Festival Arts and Crafts Fair is returning to Tyler’s Bergfeld Park, 1510 S. College, on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21.

The Arts and Crafts Fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a “date night” movie at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. Admission is free to the public. The Kids’ Zone and concessions will be available for a fee.

Hosted by the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department, the Fair will feature more than 70 booths offering handcrafted items for sale, including photography, fine and unique jewelry, hand poured candles, furniture, bath and body products, clothing, pottery, sewing, wreaths and florals, art-mix-media paintings, plants, face painting and more. This will be an excellent event to get a jump start on holiday shopping, especially for unique one of a kind gift ideas.

Saturday will be packed with live entertainment, beginning at 11 a.m. The entertainment line-up on Saturday is as follows:

  • 11 a.m. - Patriot Voices Choir, from Jack Elementary
  • Noon - Candy Crocker School of Dance
  • 1 p.m. - Caldwell Band from Caldwell Elementary
  • 3 p.m. – Tyler’s own “The Jazz Connection” in concert
  • 7 p.m. – Date Night Movie featuring “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman.

On Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m., the East Texas Youth Orchestra will perform a full concert.

The East Texas Youth Orchestra (ETYO) boasts more than 100 musicians in its three ensembles from all over the East Texas region. With two full orchestras and a jazz academy, ETYO is the premier training ground for young east Texas musicians, ages 8-22.

These audition-based ensembles perform four concerts each year which are free and open to the public. ETYO musicians are privately trained and advanced in their music skills and literacy. They provide vital support to their school music programs.

ETYO will be competing in Austria next summer at the Summa Cum Laude Vienna International Youth Music Festival with musicians from all over the world. See www. ETYO.org for details about concerts, auditions and Vienna.
