UPDATE: Thanks to an anonymous tip, authorities were able to identify the suspect involved in the scheme at Sam's Club in Lufkin.

Crime Stoppers is looking for a suspect who tricked employees at a local store in Lufkin, netting $3,500 in stolen computer equipment in 'returned merchandise' scheme.

The suspect entered the Sam's Club in Lufkin and loaded merchandise in a cart, then attempted to leave. An employee's question stopped him at first, but he convinced another employee he was returning the items. The second employee marked the items for return and directed him to the customer service desk.

Instead, he was able to leave with the merchandise after telling another employee he had 'changed his mind.'

The two employees realized too late what happened, and were not able to stop him.

Surveillance video shows the the suspect wearing a black, hooded jacket, a white, Under Armour brand baseball cap, and a silver cross pendant on a thick silver necklace. Employees said he drove a white, extended-cab Toyota truck.
