BULLARD - East Texas is home to several youth baseball teams headed to regional and national tournaments this year.

The youngest team in our area that's moving on is the Bullard 10U All-Star team. They won the state tournament and will head to Oxford, Alabama, to play in the Dixie Youth AAA World Series.

This team has faced some tough games in recent weeks, but they've been resilient and have continued to win and advance. The All-Stars have really come together recently, and while their pitching is their strong suit, as a whole, they're peaking at the right time.

Ultimately, win or lose in the World Series, the coaches just want the kids to remember the experience and understand how special this really is.

Head coach Andy Alexander says, "At the end of the day, it's baseball. They're 10 years old and we want them to have fun and enjoy it and it can be something they can look back on in the future and just think that was a lot of fun...it doesn't get any better than that."

Bullard will open up the World Series on Saturday (August 5) at 8 PM when they play Tennessee.
