DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys made a surprise trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, to move back into the fourth round and select a center to replace the retired All-Pro Travis Frederick. And they got a guy from Frederick's alma mater.
Tyler Biadasz from Wisconsin was the Cowboys selection at no. 146 in the fourth round. Dallas sent pick number 164 and a 2021 fifth-round pick to the Eagles, in exchange for the 146th selection.
Biadasz knows Frederick, and knows his game very well.
“I try molding my [game] like his. Obviously, he’s one of the greats. He’s an animal, and I try to mold my game just like that. I think our body types are very similar, and I look forward to just keeping up what he’s placed in the Dallas organization.”
Biadasz was a possible first round pick after 2018. In 2019, he played hurt.
But now, “I’m healthy," he says. "I’m ready to go. I’m full strength and everything. I had a minor AC scope, but I’m fully trained, fully functioned and everything like that. I’m ready to go.”
Biadasz was a redshirt junior with the Badgers. He was a unanimous all-American, First Team All-Big Ten, and won the Rimington Trophy for the first time in school history. The Rimington is given out each year to the best center in college football.
