JACKSONVILLE - Deshawn McCuin made his name all over the field for the Jacksonville football team.
And because of his good play, he had offers from several FCS and D2 schools. While he would have had success at any of those places, one school made a late pitch to the Indians star and it was the one he had been waiting for.
On Wednesday evening, McCuin officially signed with TCU.
He had a big senior season for the Indians, contributing all over the field, playing cornerback, receiver, and quarterback for Jacksonville. That talent earned him the 9-5A Division 2 Utility Player of the Year award.
He'll be a little more focused for the Horned Frogs, as he was recruited for his defensive skills. And, this really is like a dream come true for him.
McCuin says, "That's been my dream school since 6th grade. Their family atmosphere just [drew] me to them and just being there in the family atmosphere will be good for me in the next four years."
