LONGVIEW - The Longview football team is busy getting ready to play in their first state title game in almost a decade.

But on Wednesday, the team took a short break so a couple of their key players could announce their future plans.

Offensive lineman Marcus Williams signed with TCU and his teammate, running back Jessie Anderson, signed with Abilene Christian. The 2 football players were joined by Paxton McConnell who signed with Colorado State-Pueblo to play lacrosse.

For the 2 football players, this signing was important...but not as important as what's coming up on Saturday.

Williams says, "I signed the papers, I sent them off. But honestly, it doesn't mean that much if we don't get a ring."

As for why Williams chose TCU over his other offers, he gave a list of reasons, but most importantly, it just felt right.

He adds, "Everything brought me into there. The coaching staff, the all-around vibe. Everyone there, the way that they win games and bowls....everything drew me in and my favorite color is purple."
