TYLER - Both UT Tyler basketball teams are getting ready to take a little break for the holidays. But before they head home, both teams played one more conference game on Tuesday afternoon.

The Patriots women's team had lost 2 straight games, so they needed to get back on track as they took on Concordia. And they did get back on track in a big way. Carissa Spiker led the Patriots with 16 points and Alexus Bertrand chipped in 13 as UT Tyler cruised to a big 64-45 win. The Patriots will be back in action on Wednesday when they play a non-conference game against Whitworth.

After that game, the UT Tyler men's team also took on Concordia. The Patriots got great games from Josh Tatum (22 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds) and Skyler Hadden (16 points, 9 rebounds). But the Tornados jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they beat the Patriots 99-93. UT Tyler now has a little time off. Their next game will be Friday, December 29 when they play at Hendrix.
