LUFKIN - Former NFL star Jorvorskie Lane was back lending a helping hand for another year in East Texas. The once Aggie fullback was in his hometown of Lufkin giving back to local area youth in preparation for the school year. Lane was handing out free bags full of pencils, notebooks, rulers, and other supplies to help those kids who were in need. According to Lane being able to give kids the tools needed to get an education breeds success in the classroom.
"You know one of my weaknesses was reading, but I overcame it and I had to learn how to but I overcame that and I have to set an example so that's why I come back just to build those relationships and let them understand that they can do it," says Lane.
