BALTIMORE - Just a few weeks ago, Grayson Rodriguez was pitching shutout after shutout and helping Central Heights make a deep run in the UIL playoffs.

But his life has changed a lot in the last 3 weeks...and it's all been good.

Last Monday, he was picked 11th overall in the MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. And it didn't take Grayson long to decide that he would forego college and head straight to the pros.

That move was made official on Tuesday as he signed his first contract with the Orioles. He also got a chance to check out Camden Yards, and he even made an appearance on the field as he was introduced to the fans.

And he says that while this has all happened fast, he's thrilled with how it has all played out.

Rodriguez says, "It's every little boys dream to be drafted one day. I couldn't be happier...to be apart of this great organization and I'm ready to get to work."

Rodriguez says he's now headed to Florida and will begin his career with the GCL Orioles.
