TYLER - Today a local John Tyler Track and Field star will have a new place to call home. Runner Tyler Adams has signed with Huston-Tillotson University. Today's signing was special for Adams, who had suffered a serious knee injury and missed his entire junior season. After working tirelessly to get back on the track he finished his senior season and is happy to continue his track career in college.
"They saw something in me that nobody else saw, they didn't give up on me and my dreams, you know, I told them what I wanted to do and most people were like, it's not possible, but they said they can make it possible, so...it's just the amount of sacrifice and amount of effort that they have towards me and all the students that they have committed to them, all the athletes, they chose me. I'm here today and I signed today...it feels like a dream come true and I'm very happy," says Adams.
