Kilgore Rangers take TJC by storm

LINDALE - The Tyler Junior College football team played their home opener in Lindale against cross town rival Kilgore College.

LINDALE - The Tyler Junior College football team played their home opener in Lindale against cross town rival Kilgore College. Both teams finished 5-4 at the end of the 2017-2018 season. This year both teams a looking to make some noise and get back into the playoffs.

In the first quarter the Rangers were able to get on the board early. Former Gilmer Buckeye quarterback Aaron 'Poppy' Brown handed the ball off to JT Mackey who found Lucky Daniels in the air for the touchdown. Which put Kilgore College in the lead.

The Apaches were able to respond. Freshmen running back Willie Phillips was able to punch his way through and find the end-zone to tie up the game. But the Rangers answer right back. Dakota Michaels found De'Montre Tuggle through the air with the short pass. Tuggle would run it in for the 37-yard touchdown. In the end Kilgore would beat TJC 42-10.
