NACOGDOCHES - We have 9 East Texas high school football teams that made it to the state quarterfinals this year.

3 of those teams were on the field on Thursday night.

It was an all East Texas battle in 2A Division 1 as Tenaha and San Augustine took on one another. This game was close for a half, as Tenaha led 14-13 at the break. But in the 2nd half, it was a completely different story. The Wolves scored the final 30 points of the game as they went on to win 43-17.

Down in Lufkin, the Daingerfield football team faced a tough test as they took on #1 Newton. The Tigers kept it close for a little while, as they trailed 7-6 in the middle of the 1st quarter. But it was ALL Eagles after that. They pulled away in a big way and end Daingerfield's season with a 79-12 win.

We have 2 more games involving East Texas teams on Friday (Carthage-Henderson and Pleasant Grove-Pittsburg) and then the final 3 games will be on Saturday (Longview-Spring Westfield, John Tyler-Highland Park, Atlanta-Malakoff).
