NACOGDOCHES - Both SFA basketball teams are off to strong starts this year. The men were 5-1 and the women were 4-1...and both of those losses were to Power 5 conference teams.

On Tuesday night, both SFA teams looked good once again.

The men's team played another tough mid-major foe as they took on North Dakota State. This was a close game the entire way, but SFA had just enough to win a low-scoring affair, beating the Bison 54-50. Shannon Bogues led the Jacks with 15 points and Leon Gilmore added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Before that game, the women took on Central Baptist College. And the Ladyjacks just crushed their NAIA foe. SFA "only" led by 11 points after 1 quarter, but over the final 3 quarters, they just ran away from the Mustangs. And when it was all over, SFA beat Central Baptist College 97-34. The Ladyjacks had 6 players score in double figures, led by former John Tyler star Alyssa Mayfield, who scored 12 points.
