SFA football players take part in Pro Day

A few of the top SFA football stars took part in the team's pro day on Tuesday.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The SFA football team hasn't had the most success over the last few years.

But, individually, the Lumberjacks have been succeeding. Last year, two of their players signed contracts with NFL teams.

This year, four took part in the team's pro day in front of 10 NFL scouts.

The top SFA prospect this year is defensive end John Franklin-Myers. He's been moving up draft boards in recent weeks, especially after a strong showing at last month's NFL combine.

"I think I did pretty good," Franklin-Myers said. "I learned a lot from the scouts and the coaches who were here."

"The sky's really the limit with John," SFA head coach Clint Conque added. "So, I think he'll probably get drafted."

Franklin-Myers is trying to become the 33rd SFA player and the first since 2011 to be picked up in the NFL Draft.
