TYLER- Tyler Lee's head volleyball coach Kristee Porter is all about giving back. And that's why the John Tyler alum held her 2nd annual free volleyball camp Saturday morning at Robert E. Lee High School.
Over 50 girls showed up to the camp to learn various skills and fundamentals, instructed by Porter and other volunteer coaches. The campers received free t-shirts, free lunches, and other goodies.
"It's something that I've always wanted to do," Porter explained. "I appreciate all of the coaches that instilled this desire in me long ago, and I felt a responsibility to do the same. Our players have community service that they do all summer, and we try to teach them to be humble leaders."
Porter will begin her second year as head coach of the Lady Raiders this fall.
