Under the Lights- Carlisle High School preview

CARLISLE- The Carlisle High School football team has been a consistent playoff team over the last several seasons...even making it to the third round last year. But this season they're looking to get over the hump.

"I really can say that this year, we have more energy, so I believe that we can push and make it farther than we did the past years," stated senior quarterback Gerald Turner.

The Indians will also be under new leadership this year. Former head coach Rocky Baker will focus on being the defensive coordinator, while his son, Clay Baker, will now take over the role as the head coach. Despite the change, the transition has been quite smooth.

"It's still the same, it's his son, and it's still the same. Still yelling a little bit when we mess up. Still got Coach Baker out here helping us and everything...still the same," stated senior receiver Jaylen Price.

Head coach Clay Baker added, "A lot of times when you change a coach, there's a huge turnover, a complete system change, and it takes a little while to transition into that. So it's been real helpful for us that we kept everything the same."

Carlisle opens their season on August 31 against Sabine.
