Officials say to stay home due to intersection lights not working

According to Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh, certain intersection lights are out across the city.

TYLER, Texas — The Tyler Police Department says certain intersection lights are out across the city.

A number of issues are causing lights to be out such as limbs and trees are down on roadways and some power lines are down.

According to Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh, the Tyler Signal Department, the Street Department and Oncor are working on these issues.

Currently to resolve some of these issues, officers are placing generators at major intersections and less major ones are getting stop signs.

At this time, the community should treat an intersection without lights as a four-way stop, officials said.

Erbaugh advises the public if you don't have to go out, stay at home due to downed trees, branches, and power lines and intersection outages.

Officials are asking the public to call the police department if they see a fallen power line and to not touch or move it yourself.
