JEFFERSON, Texas — The railroad crossing at Farm-to-Market Road 2208 near Jefferson in Marion County will be closed next week for repairs.
According to TxDOT, the crossing will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for repairs to the railroad crossing. As a result, traffic will be rerouted around the cross.
The crossing will close Tuesday morning as crews begin the repairs. Traffic will be detoured through Farm-to-Market 3001 and Farm-to-Market Road 1997 to Woodlawn.
The road will be open Tuesday evening for normal traffic. The road will again close Wednesday morning to allow crews to finish the repairs. The same detours will be in effect.
TxDOT says there will be message boards near the crossing to remind drivers of the road closures.
