Officials: All fires have been contained in Henderson County

Three firefighters were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation from this fire, according to Henderson County officials.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — According to Henderson County Fire Marshal Shane Renberg, multiple fire agencies are fighting a wildfire off FM 59.

Below is a timeline of the evolving fire. Follow along for more updates:

UPDATE 7:55 PM: All fires in this thread are contained as of this time.

GBC FIRE  7:50 PM: Officials are reporting this fire to be contained as this time. Three firefighters were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation from this fire.

GBC FIRE 7:20 PM:  Agencies on the scene now include the Fire Marshal, Texas Fire Service, Sheriff's Office, Mabank PD, EMS, Pct. 2, and fire departments from Gun Barrel City, Southside, Murchison, Malakoff, Caney City, Mabank, Payne Springs, Log Cabin, and Seven Points.

CROSS ROADS FIRE 7:15 PM: CR 1200 has been reopened and residents are allowed to return home.

BROWNSBORO FIRE 6:50 PM: The Brownsboro fire has been cleared at this time.

GBC FIRE 6:35 PM: Officials say the estimated size of this fire at 50 acres now.

BROWNSBORO FIRE 6:30 PM: A fourth fire has been spotted. This one is on CR 3204 in Brownsboro. No estimate of size at this time.

CROSS ROADS FIRE 6:30 PM: According to Texas Fire Service mapping, there were 152 acres burned in the fire off FM 59.

CROSS ROADS FIRE 6:10 PM: The Cross Roads fire is 80 percent contained. FM 59 is reopened to traffic at this time. CR 1200 continues to be closed.

FOREHAND ROAD FIRE 6:10 PM:  The Forehand Road Fire has been stopped. Resources from there are being sent to the GBC.

FOREHAND ROAD FIRE 6 PM: Officials are estimating the Forehand Road Fire to be about 5-7 acres at this time. 

FOREHAND ROAD FIRE 5:53 PM: A third fire has broken out. A grass fire near Forehand Road in Trinidad.

CROSS ROADS FIRE 5:50 PM: Officials say the estimate of the Cross Roads fire at 100 acres and it is 75 percent contained at this time.

GBC FIRE 5:50 PM: A second fire has broken out in Gun Barrel City on County Road 4006. GBC officials report the fire is 26 acres.

Personnel from Caney City, Trinidad, Malakoff, Southside, Murchison, and North 19 are being sent to support GBC.

5:30 PM: Officials say, the Texas Fire Service plane has dropped the first water airdrop.

5:10 PM: Fire has spread to 40 acres.5:30 PM

4:55 PM:  Officials say the fire has spread to at least 35 acres. Agencies are currently using a technique called a "back burn," which is to set a controlled fire to eliminate the fuel in the path of a wildfire to slow the fire down until the Texas Fire Service plane can arrive with water for an airdrop.

4:20 PM: Agencies fighting the fire are the County Fire Marshal, Texas Fire Service, Sheriff's Office, Pct. 1, EMS, and fire departments from Southside, Malakoff, Caney City, Payne Springs, Log Cabin, Trinidad, Bethel Cayuga, Baxter, North 19, Murchison, Bradford, and Athens.

4:15 PM: The Texas Fire Service arrived to help fight the fire,

3:50 PM: Officials have closed FM 59 from CR 1119 down to Becks Chapel Road.

3:45 PM: Officials have extended the evacuation area of CR 1200 to the 9400 block. From the 9400 block to the 1100 block are now evacuated.

Evacuation areas are set up at the Henderson County Senior Citizens Center and the Cross Roads ISD gym.

3:31 PM: Officials are evacuating Private Rd. 5203.

3:30 PM: Second evacuation area is set up at the Cross Roads ISD gym.

3:25 PM: Officials are evacuating Private Rd. 5207 and residents are directed to go to the Henderson County Senior Citizens Center. 

3:15 PM: Henderson County officials have called for an evacuation for County Rd. 1200 from the 9800 bock to the 1100 block. Residents are directed to the Henderson County Senior Citizens Center. 

A CodeRED has been initiated. 

2:35 PM: Fire has spread to 30 acres and is still moving.

This afternoon/evening there were fires in Cross Roads near FM 59, Gun Barrel City near CR 4006, Trinidad near Forehand Road, and Brownsboro near CR 3204.

Agencies on the scene were the Henderson County Fire Marshal's Office, Texas Fire Service, Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Southside, Malakoff, Caney City, Payne Springs, Log Cabin and Trinidad fire departments.

The Henderson County Senior Center was set up as an evacuation area.
