NWS confirms EF-1 tornado in Harrison County, damage, flooding reported in several area across East Texas

TYLER, Texas — Several areas across East Texas reported damage and flooding in many areas across East Texas.

Harrison County

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado struck in central Harrison County. 

The tornado traveled for about seven miles with peak winds reaching 107 mph. The tornado caused trees to be uprooted and downed power lines.

There are reports of multiple trees down in the Marshall area:

  • Tree down on home on Farm-to-Market Road 31 near Farm-to-Market Road 2625
  • Trees reported down on power lines in the city

Smith County

The Tyler Police Department closed several roads early Sunday for high water. Those roads have since reopened.

There are stop lights out at Elm Street and S. Broadway Avenue as well as Paluxy Drive and Loop 323 

There are reports of trees down in central Tyler.

Smith County Emergency Manager reports trees down on Farm-to-Market Road 16 near Hideaway area. There are also reports of trees down in the Winona area.

Gregg County

The Longview Police Department temporarily closed West Marshall St. due to flooding. The road has since reopened.

There are also reports of trees down in south Longview near West Sabine Street.

Rusk County

Authorities in Rusk County report a tree is down on State Highway 42 and Farm-to-Market Road 13. There are also reports of a tree down on Farm-to-Market Road 1251 near State Highway 43.

Rusk County OEM reports trees and power lines down in New London area.

Nacogdoches County

There are multiple reports of trees down on County Road 3285 in the Garrison-area.

Upshur County

Officials in Big Sandy are warning people to avoid the area of Grove Street between Highway 155 and Wildcat Drive due to downed trees and electrical lines. Emergency crews have been notified.

The NWS is reporting a tree fell on a shed in Gilmer.

Wood County

The NWS is reports large pine trees down at Holly Lake Ranch.
