EAST TEXAS —

**WATCHES/WARNINGS** As of 7 am Friday a flash flood watch has been issued for Hopkins county and we may see more counties added into it this weekend. Forecast models are suggesting as much as 3 inches of rainfall or more could be possible this weekend as a front is expected to stall out across the area.

As we go into Friday we are expecting rain chances to be around throughout the day. Some light showers have already been around the region this morning. Showers and storm chances are expected to continue through the afternoon and into the evening as well. The good news for football tonight is the heaviest and most persistent rain will likely stay west of the area as the approaching cold front has slowed down a bit. That front should arrive late tonight/early Saturday keeping rain chances in the forecast overnight. Expect a high of 87 this afternoon falling to 74 tonight.

Following today rain chances will last throughout the entirety of the next 7 days as well. A weather system pushing toward the region will bring about a 60% chance for rain Friday which will bump to a 70% chance for Saturday and back to a 60% chance on Sunday. The chances for rain stick around into next week as well, with a 50% chance on Monday lasting through both Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain will likely linger into Thursday as well, with a 30% chance for rain as we round out the next 7 days. Temps will drop down into the 80s as this system impacts our weather.

Get ready for a rainy 7 days East Texas!
