It was our second morning in a row below freezing across East Texas today and we have another morning of sub-freezing temperatures to look forward to as we head toward tomorrow. As long as the cold weather is sticking around it is recommended to dress in layers, with a wind resistant outer layer, in addition to wearing a hat, mittens, or insulated gloves. Also, remember the 4 P's as below freezing temperatures could harm unprotected pipes, pets, plants, and people.

Many areas in East Texas saw light snow Monday night and through the day Tuesday. Even areas in Deep East Texas saw the snow flakes flying around. On top of that the wind chill factor was making conditions on Tuesday pretty miserable. The good news today was that the sunshine replaced those snowflakes, but the cold temperatures and at least some wind chill will be sticking around. Skies will be mostly sunny all day tomorrow and temps will hit the mid to upper-50s. Winds from the northwest around 5 mph will keep feels like temps in the 40s. Skies will stay clear tonight and we will once again see temps fall below freezing. Expect a low overnight tonight right around the 30 degree mark.

The mostly sunny to sunny pattern that took over today will last for the rest of the week and through the weekend. Temperatures will be warming up by Thursday and Friday thanks to a change in the wind direction. The winds will shift to the west tomorrow and to the Southwest on Friday. This warming trend will continue into the start of the weekend, with highs into the 50s Thursday and temps reaching the 60s for Friday and Saturday. Temps will drop slightly Sunday and Monday with a few more clouds and chance for rain in the forecast. Rain chances and slightly cooler air should linger into Tuesday as well. Chances for rain are 40% on Sunday, 10% on Monday, 20% on Tuesday and 30% on Wednesday with skies that look to otherwise be partly cloudy.

One more morning of freezing temps East Texas before things finally start to warm back up!
