TYLER, Texas — Good morning East Texas,
Believe it or not, this is the last full week of April. May is just nine days away, and so far East Texas has experienced a somewhat quiet severe weather season. But this week, spring storms may finally arrive. In the meantime, expect some great weather through the middle of the week before humidity returns to set the stage for more rain and thunderstorms for the final weekend of the month.
Here's your forecast:
TODAY:
It's another day of sun! Sunshine will lift afternoon temperatures into the upper 70s, but it will be breezy. Don't forget the hair spray, because wind gusts could reach 25 mph. Otherwise, it will be a nice afternoon, and the humidity will be held in check one more day.
TOMORROW:
A few clouds are creeping back into the forecast tomorrow. We could see a few spotty showers, but most of the Piney Woods will stay dry. Thanks to high pressure, afternoon temperatures will jump to the 80s. As humidity returns to East Texas, overnight lows will only drop to the mid 60s.
LATER THIS WEEK:
Rain and thunderstorms are back in the forecast at the end of the week. There is a risk of severe weather for our northwestern counties on Friday. We appear to stay mostly clear on Saturday, but a few storms could make it to areas near Emory and Canton. The severe risk returns to all of East Texas on Sunday. Keep checking back with us for the latest.
