TYLER, Texas — It was another gorgeous day this Friday in East Texas! The question is, will that great weather last into the weekend? The answer is looking like a no. Let's dive into the forecast for more details.
Clouds will be increasing across the region tonight, but the rain should stay out of East Texas until Saturday morning. We will see temps stay a little milder than the past several nights, only falling to around the low 50s. Winds will be from the southeast around 3 to 8 mph.
The Weekend & Early Next Week:
Sadly, like many weekends as of late, this one is looking to come with rain chances.
A weather system will be approaching our region on Saturday going into Sunday. This will lead to mostly cloudy skies on Saturday along with a 40% chance for rain and thunderstorms. Rain showers are not expected to last all day, but the chance for rain will stick around all day. Rain chances will be higher from Tyler to the north, and lower south of Tyler.
Rain chances look to increase a bit Saturday night and into Sunday, but overall should stay around 40 to 50 percent.
This rain/storm chance will last into Sunday and stick around 40% with skies that are mostly cloudy. Again, like Saturday, we are not looking at an all day rain, but the chance for rain will stick around all day.
Rain and storm chances are looking most likely from late Sunday into early Monday. This is when the highest area of energy moves through east Texas. As of such, rain chances will be bumped up to 60% for early Monday and late Sunday night. Rain chances will be decreasing throughout the day after Monday morning, with skies that are mostly cloudy to partly cloudy around the region.
Temps will stay warm during this period, with highs on Saturday expected to be near 70, on Sunday near 76, and on Monday near 73.
Mid/Late Week Next Week:
Sunshine returns by the midweek next week. Expect Sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday, but with slightly cooler temps. Expect a high on Tuesday of 68 and a high on Wednesday of 70.
Partly cloudy skies and a 20% chance for a few showers will return for Thursday, with mostly cloudy skies and a 30% chance for rain moving in by Friday. Temps will reach the mid-70s once again both days!
Keep the umbrellas on standby this weekend East Texas. While it doesn't look like a washout, you don't wanna be caught without one either!
