Hopefully you had a fantastic Father's Day, and you were able to get your outdoor plans in before the storms showed up. But the rain showers cooled things down a tad, so they weren't all that bad, and we actually need the rain. More rain is expected to be hanging around as we start the work week as well. Most of the forecast models are showing the tropical moisture will be sticking around through Wednesday

That area of tropical moisture is expected to continue influencing our weather into the start of the week, leading to what could be a rather soggy stretch of days in East Texas. While it is still early, some forecast models are suggesting 1 to 3 inches may fall across East Texas over the 3 day span. The system is not expected to become a named storm, but should provide us with some beneficial rainfall. Tyler, Texas was over 4.5 inches of rain below normal for the year as of today.

As always, CBS 19 is your home for the most accurate forecasts in East Texas, so make sure you stick with us, we've got you covered!
