EAST TEXAS —

It's going to get HOT HOT HOT this week East Texas. We saw highs in the upper 90s on Monday & Tuesday. It wasn't overly humid for our standards, but it was humid enough to make it feel in the 100s during much of the afternoons. We can't rule out a showers or two through the ArkLaTex tonight, but most of East Texas is going to stay dry. The heat will continue on Wednesday, and actually, triple digit heat is in the forecast through Sunday, so be ready!

For Wednesday expect partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and temps that reach the low 100s. Winds will be light, from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. The good news is this afternoon dew points stay a bit low for us, but with temps in the low 100s anyway, feels like temps will still be in the mid-100s by the afternoon. For Wednesday night, expect mostly clear and showers not likely. Temps will fall only to the upper 70s.

By Thursday we will still see mostly sunny skies along with temps that will continue to stay in the low 100s. More sunny skies will return on Friday and last through next week. If we hit 102° Friday, we will tie a record, but that appears to be our only shot at a record during this heat streak. Temps get as hot as 102-103 by Saturday, so make sure you have plans to beat the heat!

Stay hydrated and stay cool East Texas!
