3-acre grass fire destroys barn, 2 sheds in Henderson County

Since June 21, Henderson County is under a 30-day burn ban.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Henderson County officials say a 3-acre grass fire broke out on County Road 4510. The fire destroyed a barn and two sheds.

Multiple fire departments worked together to extinguish the fire such as Athens, Murchison, Southside, North 19, Baxter, New York, Brownsboro and Trinidad. 

Henderson County Fire Marshal's Office, Precinct 4, and the Texas Fire Service also lend a hand. 

Since June 21, Henderson County has been under a 30-day burn ban. The county continues to have drought conditions with the Keetch-Byram Drought Index average at 706 on Tuesday. The threshold for setting a burn ban is 575.
