TYLER, Texas — As wintry weather makes its way through East Texas, power outages are expected.

Current power outage numbers are as follows as of 8:33 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2:

ONCOR:

  • Anderson County - 1,501 outages
  • Cherokee County - 166 outages
  • Henderson County - 3,851 outages
  • Hopkins County - 2,726 outages
  • Leon County- 2,325 outages
  • Smith County - 23,102 outages
  • Van Zandt County - 718 outages

SWEPCO:

  • No significant outages to be reported

RUSK COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

  • 75631- 24 outages

UPSHUR RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

  • No significant outages to be reported

CHEROKEE COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

  • No significant outages to be reported

HOUSTON COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

  • No significant outages to be reported

WOOD COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE:

  • No significant outages to be reported

TRINITY VALLEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE

  • Anders County- 1,400 outages
  • Henderson County - 2,700 outages
  • Van Zandt County - 426 outages

POWER OUTAGE TIPS

  • Keep freezers and refrigerators closed.
  • Use a generator, but ONLY outdoors and away from windows.
  • Do not use a gas stove or oven to heat your home.
  • Disconnect appliances and electronics to avoid damage from electrical surges.
  • Have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices.
  • Check with local officials about heating and cooling locations open near you.
