Smith County Offices delay opening until 10 a.m. Friday

“We will have a delayed opening of county facilities at 10 a.m. & will re-evaluate in the morning to determine if full day closure is needed," said S.C. Judge Moran.

TYLER, Texas — Smith County officials announced its office will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4 due to winter weather.

“We will have a delayed opening of county facilities at 10 a.m. and will re-evaluate in the morning to determine if a full day closure is needed based on an evaluation of overnight conditions," Smith County Judge Nathaniel Moran said in a prepared statement. "If so, we will make a public announcement at that time. We urge folks to drive carefully and avoid overpasses and bridges, if possible.”

Any closings do not apply to essential, emergency, residential and detention operations unless specifically stated.
