Multiple fire agencies are battling a 20-acre fire on FM 3441

Henderson County reminds their residents there is a very high danger of fire in the area as the drought continues in the county.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A 20-ace fire broke out on FM 3441 in Henderson County. Multiple fire agencies are battling the fire.

Henderson County also said this afternoon, a grass fire off of CR 4343 in Larue was started by a hay bailer.

Henderson County reminds their residents there is a very high danger of fire in the area as the drought continues in the county.

Currently, the Keetch-Byram Drought Index in Henderson County has fallen today to an average of 680 after Thursday's rain. But that is still above the 575 threshold for a burn ban.

The Commissioners Court is set to meet next Tuesday morning to decide if their will be an extension of the current burn an in Henderson County.
