MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas – It’s every chocolate lovers’ dream and it’s right here in East Texas.
Sweet Shop USA, is an 80,000-square foot facility in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
According to the company’s website, it’s the largest handmade chocolate manufacturer in the country.
"We're one of the only ones or the last ones that do the handmade chocolates in the country that manufactures them,” said Mandy Hughes, the company’s COO.
In existence since 1972, the family-owned chocolate company says it's dedicated to preserving the craft of American handmade chocolates.
The factory consistently wins Specialty Food Association Awards.
"This past year, we came up with a candy bar,” Mandy added. “It’s called a Goji Berry Crunch Bar – it's got quinoa, pumpkin seeds, organic white chocolate and goji berries and we kind of mixed it all together and we actually won a gold Sofi award.”
The all natural products are sent to more than 7,000 retailers nationwide.
The location in Mount Pleasant, Texas is equipped with a party room, a newly remodeled coffee bar and with an appointment – Sweet Shop USA also offers tours of its’ facilities.
