Leighton took a stroll through a super hero fan's dream spot. The folks at Geek World invited CBS19 inside so Leighton could teach us a thing or two about Pokemon, Star Wars and so much more.
His interests go beyond inside games. He loves baseball, but you may also find him on the court or field. Leighton said he likes to play, "basketball, football, I listen to music, draw, play outside sometimes, watch TV."
Leighton may learn at a slower pace. "The stuff I do in school some of the stuff is hard. I can't do it all and my teacher has to help me," said Leighton.
But he is very determined and has a great attitude about school. He says his favorite subject is all of them.
Those who know Leighton best say he's a sweet child with a sweet disposition and I witnessed that first hand in our time together.
It didn't take long for Leighton to make friends at Geek World, even with a bearded dragon, that allowed us to see his gentle side. Part of what makes Leighton, Leighton is gift of gab. He loves to laugh and joke around. There is never a dull moment with Leighton in your life.
He has so much to offer and in return needs a patient, loving family who will help him grow to be more independent. Leighton may need some help with setting boundaries and will fit best in a family that can be patient and consistent with him.
This is what Leighton desires in a forever family. "That they know where I am at and that I am safe. They take care of me and make sure I don't get in trouble in school and make sure I am passing all of my grades," said Leighton. Because he already has big plans for his future with lots of careers on his mind. "A rapper, a basketball, player, football player and artist, a photographer, " Leighton said.
Leighton said what makes him special is this, "I know stuff and that I am a good kid and I stay on task and do my work." The family that adopts Leighton will be accepting and respectful.
