Southside Park Project

The Southside park project is getting a little help in funding from a local East Texas business that understands how important the park is.

Remember enjoying the playground when you were a kid? Swinging from the swings? Sliding down the slide?

Well, children with different abilities in the East Texas area might not have that option as of right now, but with the help of Tyler area AMBUCS, the City of Tyler, Child’s Play and various local businesses including ETX Brewery Co. this might be an option come next year.

Southside park will include ramps for those in wheelchairs, foam surface topped with artificial turf and much more to accommodate for all children.

This is the first in the East Texas area, but with only 30% of funding in hand the park project has paired up with a familiar East Texas business.

ETX Brewing Co. has created a special beer to give back to this project so dear to their hearts. Annie and Brian Gilstrap's son Drake suffered a stroke while in the NICU, so they understand the struggles of not having a park accessible for their entire family.

The Park Project beer will be released November 15th, and a large portion of the proceeds going to help fund the South Side Park Project.
