Gary ISD campuses closing for the week due to COVID-19 cases

Students will continue to learn remotely with online and paper enrichment activities sent home Monday.

PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — Gary ISD announced Monday afternoon that they would be closed for the remainder of the week because of the number of active COVID-19 cases affecting their staff and students.

Students will continue to learn remotely with online and paper enrichment activities sent home Monday. All activities need to be finished and turned in next Monday. If students need help with the work at anytime, they or their parents may call the campus or email teachers anytime during regular school hours.

"This closure will provide for the safety of our students and staff; as well as to make certain that we have appropriate staff available for the campus," Superintendent Todd Greer said in a letter to families. "We are currently working with the custodial and maintenance team to ensure that all equipment and buildings are cleaned and sanitized before the return of students."
