KILGORE, Texas — Auditions are taking place Sunday for a comedy film that takes place in East Texas.
From 2-6 p.m. Sunday, auditions for The Kilgore Cowboy are taking place in the city of Kilgore. Auditions take place at 5991 Old 135 N, Kilgore TX 75662.
According to IMDb, the plot involves a big city rapper seeking refuge in Kilgore as he stumbles upon a world of eccentric characters, unexpected danger and a life-changing adventure. Produced by GK Studios, known for movies such as Lives of Wolves and The Pendant, The Kilgore Cowboy stars Famous Amos (who previously starred in The Hole in Da Wall) and the first on-screen appearance of East Texas actor Lee Collins.
The studio also teased the appearance of a special guest celebrity.

Obi said food will be provided at the auditions. The Kilgore Cowboy is scheduled to premiere in December of 2024.
