POLICE: 2 teens arrested for home invasion, machete attack in Kilgore

The suspects' identities have not been released.

KILGORE, Texas — Two teenagers are behind bars following reported home invasion.

According to the Kilgore Police Department, on Wednesday night, officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Harris St. 

Police say two male teens, a 17 year old and 18 year old, broke into the apartment armed with a machete and assaulted the residents allegedly over a stolen nicotine vape.

The KPD says two people were injured in the incident and the suspects had left the area before officers arrived on scene.

However, with the help of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office and Gregg County Sheriff's Office, the suspects were found at a home on Broadway Blvd. They were arrested for burglary of a habitation and taken to the Kilgore Municipal Jail.

The suspects' identities have not been released.
