TYLER - The TJC men's soccer team is always loaded with talented players. And since the Apaches are back-to-back national champions, this year's sophomore class is even more stacked than normal.
On Tuesday, 8 members of the TJC men's soccer team signed with Division 1 colleges. That group was led by reigning NJCAA player of the year Mohammed Kamara, who signed with UCLA.
Kamara was happy to share this day with all his teammates. "Having 8 guys signing with some top colleges in the country, it's a good thing for the program and it's what this program is all about."
Head coach Steve Clements says he hopes a couple of his other sophomores will sign with 4-year colleges in the next few weeks.
Here's a list of the players that signed and where they're headed...
Mohammed Kamara - UCLA
Paul Odendahl - Coastal Carolina
Robbie Johnson - Radford
Yudai Tashiro - Creighton
Nicolas LeMetayer - UNC Greensboro
Fredi Ortega - Wisconsin-Green Bay
Carlton McKenzie - New Mexico
George Braima - Ohio State
