Brett Anthony

Chief Meteorologist Brett Anthony joined the CBS19 team in Dec. 2020 and loves East Texas weather. 

He’s looking forward to covering the variety of weather that moves through the Piney Woods of Texas — everything from hot, sunny days to colder nights and the challenging rare snow forecast. 

Brett’s weathercasts are certified by the American Meteorological Society as he brings nearly 30 years of experience as a Chief Meteorologist to CBS19's weekday evening newscasts. 

Brett has won two regional Emmy awards for his coverage of weather events and special projects. He’s covered many tornado outbreaks while Chief Meteorologist in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and tracked a damaging EF-4 tornado outside Kansas City in May 2019. He played a pivotal role as a part of the Integrated Warning Team. The team, made up of meteorologists, emergency managers and journalists, informed people of the impending danger and prevented any deaths from occurring that day.

Brett has been married to his wife, Sherri, for nearly 30 years. They have two sons, Seth and Aaron. They also have three cats, Mr. Whiskers, Miss Lucy and the newest addition, Twister, named for Brett’s favorite movie.
