CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas convicted felon has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on drug charges in Cherokee County.
According to the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office, a jury handed down Jeffery W. Gordon's sentence on Tuesday.
Gordon was found guilty of possessing methamphetmine and the offense was enhanced due to the fact he had seven previous felony convictions.
During the punishment phase of the trial, the DA's office says Gordon admitted to driving around Cherokee County while high on meth.
