HARKER HEIGHTS (KCEN) - The Harker Heights Twin Peaks restaurant has closed permanently.
It is unclear at this time why the restaurant closed.
An employee stated that they were notified last night via e-mail that the restaurant would be permanently closing. The e-mail, provided by an employee, stated:
For the last 17 months, Twin Peaks Restaurant has proudly served the Harker Heights/Killeen community, providing a quality product at a fair price in a family-friendly atmosphere. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Twin Peaks Restaurant, effective end of day Sunday, September 27th.
The people of Harker Heights/Killeen welcomed Twin Peaks with open arms, and for that we will be forever grateful. We have developed many friendships and loyal customers over the past 17 months, and we shall miss them all.
We love our staff and all their hard work. We would like to wish all of them only the best in their new endeavors and thank them from the bottom of our heart for being a crucial part of Twin Peaks Restaurant.

You will all continued to be paid until the 11th of October

Between 30 and 40 people were employed at the restaurant.
The employee also stated that business at the restaurant had been slower since the Waco Twin Peaks shooting in May.
The building is currently being cleaned and prepared to be sold as-is.
