CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — Officials have identified a man killed and woman injured in a Tuesday night crash in Cherokee County.
According to Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Rodney Wallace, the two-vehicle wreck occurred on Hwy. 84, near Maydelle, just after 8 p.m.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reports a car, driven by Ruben Lundgren, 23, of Jacksonville, was traveling east on US 84. At the same time, an SUV, driven by Shinnitta Foreman, 46, of Rusk, was traveling west on US 84. DPS says the car crossed into the eastbound lanes, striking the SUV.
Lundgren was pronounced dead at the scene. Foreman was taken to a local. Her condition is unknown.
