Arson Investigation: Missing pregnant Kilgore woman home destroyed by fire

The home that missing Kilgore woman Sheryia Grant and her sister, Sheria, lived in burned to the ground on Sept. 19.

A Kilgore home that burned to the ground on Sept. 19 belonged to the pregnant woman missing since August 20 and her sister.

This case is being investigated as a possible arson and insurance fraud. Investigators say the fire is not connected to the disappearance of Sheryia Grant.

Kilgore and Sabine fire departments were called to the 700 Block of Martin Luther King Street on Sept. 18 to house already engulfed, according to a Kilgore Police Department Facebook post:

According to a separate post, no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

CBS19 did confirm with family member Sheaira Grant that the home belonged to both her and her sister, Sheryia. Sheryia has been missing since August 20. She was pregnant at the time she went missing, and her due date has already passed with no word on her whereabouts.

Local authorities are still investigating this case.
